Lifeling is a dark Sci-Fi pixel art adventure which where you search for answers as you travel to one of the last remaining human strongholds in a post-apocalyptic world that’s ruled by machines.
The story of Lifeling takes place in a Terminator-esque future where robots have overthrown the humans and now hunt down the few remaining survivors. You take on the role of a young man, who has lived in this post-apocalyptic world all his life, but who is now headed towards a signal coming from a heavily guarded factory, which could contain the last of the human resistance.
You’re going to the factory in search of answers and on this journey you’re accompanied by a stuffed teddy bear – a lifelong companion, a confidant and the only one you trust. The deadly post apocalyptic world has hardened you, making it hard to trust strangers, but you may have to open up a little and accept some help to survive this adventure.
Taking around an hour to play through, Lifeling is a fantastic game with a well written story, high quality pixel art animation, interesting characters and gameplay that offers a nice mix of stealth, puzzles and horror. The narrative takes a few interesting twists along the way and it’s a surprisingly heartfelt experience – there’s still a place for kindness and connection in this dark post-apocalptic world. Highly Recommended.
