Lighthouse is a short and atmospheric adventure where you follow environmental clues to help track down a lighthouse on a remote fog-filled island.
In Lighthouse you find yourself standing on a jetty on a remote island enshrouded in fog, with the simple instruction to “find and activate the lighthouse before midnight to avoid termination”. You have no idea where the lighthouse is and the island is quite large, but there are certain visual and audio clues that help guide you in the right direction – if you pay attention to them!
It only takes 5-10 minutes to play through Lighthouse and there’s not much in the way of action, but it’s a very atmospheric experience that does a great job of highlighting how good world design can be used to draw players towards certain places in an open world game. See if you can reach the lighthouse in time!
