LUCE is a creepy little 2D puzzle adventure about a young girl who’s terrified of the dark and sees hands reaching out to her if she stays in the shadows too long.
Created by a group of game dev students from the University of Aveiro, Portugal, LUCE is a short Little Nightmares-esque horror adventure where the shadows can kill you. In the game you take control of a scared little girl as she makes her way through a shadowy building. There are collectibles to find, boxes to move and puzzles to solve, but you need to be sure not to stray from the light for too long – if you do the shadow hands will reach out and grab you.
It’s a well made little game with excellent artwork, a very tense atmosphere and some clever puzzle design. It does a good job of relaying the story too as you make your way through the game and you become invested in little Luce’s wellbeing. See if you can keep the shadows at bay!
