Marie’s Room is a powerful first person narrative experience that sees you reliving memories of an unconventional friendship in your friend’s old bedroom.
In Marie’s Room you take on the role of Kelsey, who has returned to her friend Marie’s long since vacated bedroom to collect Marie’s journal. However the room isn’t as empty as it initially seems – it’s filled with memories of Marie and Kelsey’s friendship from twenty years ago.
As you search Marie’s room your memories of certain moments come back to you, but you also unlock Marie’s versions of the events in her journal. The memories help build a tale of friendship, adversary, love and hate. There are a couple of password based puzzles to figure out too which can help unravel some dark secrets and explains why Marie isn’t there herself to pick up the diary..
Taking around forty minutes to playthrough, Marie’s Room is a beautiful and captivating experience. Within a single room it manages to tell a complex and emotional story that takes some dark twists along the way. Highly recommended.
