meloveyou is a stylish first person puzzle adventure with a touch of horror, which sees you collecting damaged data in a glitchy TRON-esque cyberspace.
In meloveyou you take on the role of a program in a computer framework who is tasked with cleaning up cubes of damaged data garbage. The garbage data that you collect contains jumbled up messages from other programs and a lot of them seem to be from one entity in particular who has taken an interest in you.
There are a few little puzzles to solve you explore the beautiful, neon-filled glitchy cyberspace of meloveyou, which generally require you to upload the correct command into your flash memory, then use it to activate a console. It’s not too tricky, but it may take a couple of goes to figure out. And then there’s the issue that maybe you’re not alone inside the mainframe…
It takes around 15 minutes to play through meloveyou (though as the dev notes, “TH3Re154N0TH3R53cR3T510RY” to discover) and it’s a fascinating experience exploring the game’s glitchy cyberspace. The visuals are remarkable and it’s got a slightly sinister atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re trespassing in a forbidden area of a forgotten computer world. Highly recommended.
