Metamorphos.is is an odd blend of platforming, typing and Kafka in which you type words from the text of The Metamorphosis to guide the story’s protagonist to his bed.
In Metamorphos.is you’re presented with sections of the text from Franz Kafka’s The Metamorphosis, in which the protagonist, Gregor Samsa wakes up to find himself turned into an insect. In the game Gregor continuously walks in whatever direction he’s facing (like a Lemming), and it’s up to you to guide him to the safety of his bed. You do this by typing words that you can see on the text, these words then become a platform or can be used to block Gregor’s route and turn him in the opposite direction.
It’s an odd premise which works surprisingly well, with stylish illustrated story boards and unique typing/platforming gameplay that creates a whole new way to experience Franz Kafka’s disturbing classic. A cleverly crafted game created from The Metamorphosis that’s also a created within it.
