Midnight Train is a narrative-driven mystery horror adventure where your train takes an unexpected detour and takes you to trap-filled destinations that you have to escape within a time limit or you’ll be trapped there forever.
In Midnight Train you follow the story of a young mute woman called Luna Wyndell whose train mysteriously stops in a dark void. All the other passengers have disappeared, except from a wannabe detective called Neil. You’ll work together (and with some other characters you encounter) as you try to figure out what’s going on and how to escape this mysterious place.
As you explore the strange places the train takes you to you’ll solve puzzles, meet new characters, avoid deadly traps and unravel the mystery of the Midnight Train. The characters are a lot of fun – particularly Luna, who often takes a no nonsense common sense approach to puzzles (such as smashing a locked box rather than looking for a code for it).
With four chapters, each of which can take up to a couple of hours to play through, Midnight Train is a long game, but the time flies by as you play it. This is thanks largely to the excellent writing, interesting characters and intriguing narrative throughout. It does a good job of shaking up the gameplay with a little action now and again, and the story takes some great twists along the way. A marvellous mystery train adventure you won’t want to miss.
