Miss Eyesore: 1964 is a creepy first person horror game where you attempt to escape from a badly damaged prison facility in a remote frostbitten location while being stalked by a freaky monster.
In Miss Eyesore: 1964 you awaken in your freezing prison cell after hearing horrific noises coming from outside. It seems a calamity has befallen the prison you were incarcerated in and now the facility is empty – well, empty except from a grotesque alien-looking monster that stalks its halls looking for people to eat.
Your aim is to escape via the fire escape or via a rumored secret door whilst avoiding the monster. However, the monster isn’t the only thing you need to worry about – there are pockets of deadly radiation and sub-zero temperatures to deal with too. A geiger counter helps you avoid the radiation and you’ll need to find heat sources to stave off frostbite.
Miss Eyesore: 1964 isn’t perfect – if you die you go right back to the start and a lot of the environment looks quite generic so it’s easy to get lost. However, it’s got a great sense of atmosphere, the monster is suitably horrifying and having to deal with sub zero temperatures is a great touch (and makes it fondly reminiscent of John Carpenter’s The Thing). A horror adventure where frostbite is just as deadly as a monster-bite!
