Monopoly.io is a slick and speedy browser based version of Monopoly that allows players you play the classic property management boardgame against other players online.
Playable in private or public matches, Monopoly.io allows for fast flowing and easily accessible multiplayer Monopoly matches playable in your browser. It’s still in development, but everything you’d expect from a Monopoly game is there – all the classic player pieces, Chance and Community Chest cards, property buying, building houses and trading with other players.
If you’ve ever played the original, Monopoly.io is very easy to pick up and play. There are some animations as the camera swoops around the game board during moves, but there’s nothing that slows the pace of the game (unlike in most digital versions of Monopoly). Everything that can be automated has been, such as paying fines and rent, so the game moves at a nice pace and trading is nice and easy thanks to the in-game chat system.
Aside from the occasional bug, Monopoly.io really impresses with its fast paced and easily accessible take on one of the most popular board games of all time. It delivers a streamlined and focused digital recreation of Monopoly that’s far better than most over-elaborate attempts that have come before.
