Mortal Kombat Outworld Assassins is a blood splattered old school side scrolling beat ‘em up starring everyone’s favorite Mortal Kombat ninjas – Sub Zero, Scorpion and Noob Saibot!
A fan made project built in the OpenBOR engine, Mortal Kombat Outworld Assassins allows you to take control of Sub-Zero, Scorpion and Noob Saibot as they go on a quest to recover a stolen amulet. What ensues is seven stages of brutal side scrolling arcade beat ‘em up action with lots of minions to dispatch, bosses to fight and fatalities to perform.
The combat in Mortal Kombat Outworld Assassins is fairly simple, but great fun. Each character has access to their trademark special moves which you can pull off using combinations of key presses (Down Down A, Down Forward A and Down Up A), you can pull off some powerful combos and you can also pick up and use weapons to slice your opponents to pieces.
The Mortal Kombat Characters make the transition from fighting game to beat ‘em up pretty seamlessly. The gameplay is pretty shallow, but it’s great for a bit of old school beat ‘em up brutality and it’s WAY better than Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub Zero!
