Mr. Pompy’s Extravagant Quiz is a 2000’s multimedia CD-ROM edutainment styled horror game where you play a quiz with some friendly cartoon characters.
In Mr. Pompy’s Extravagant Quiz you play a CD-ROM quiz game that was apparently released in the early 2000’s, on sale and given away for free in cereal boxes for a short time before it was suddenly discontinued. The game is a little corrupted and the only way you can play is via an old save file named “Sarah”. It seems Sarah already beat the first couple of stages, but you can still finish the final one – a series of quiz rounds hosted by the titular Mr. Pompy.
Taking around 30 minutes to play through, it’s a great little horror game that makes clever use of the media, and has lots of hidden lore and secrets to discover. Also, Mr. Pompy makes for a much more interesting character than most .exe style games, with genuinely heartfelt motives. Highly recommended.
