Mýrdalssandur, Iceland is a jaw-droppingly beautiful first person exploration experience that allows you to wander around and take pictures of a near-photorealistic recreation of the outwash plain of Mýrdalssandur, on the South coast of Iceland.
Created by Caves Explore Fushimi Inari (Explore Kyoto’s Red Gates), Mýrdalssandur, Iceland is a wonderfully scenic and chilled out experience which allows you to explore a near-photorealistic recreation of Mýrdalssandur, in Iceland. It’s a flat, rocky area created from sediments in glacial meltwater, surrounded by huge, looming mountains, valleys and even a picturesque waterfall. It was even used as a filming location to represent the planet Lah’mu in the opening scenes of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
You can just wander around and marvel at the scenery in Mýrdalssandur, Iceland if you want, but there’s also a camera to find that allows you to take pictures. The pictures you take are saved to your hard drive and if you take pictures of nine specific areas then you’ll unlock a new area and an ending.
It’s a beautiful experience that really makes you feel like you’re there as you discover the sights and sounds of an incredible scenic chunk of Icelandic landscape. A relaxing and meditative experience that really allows you to appreciate the beauty of nature. Highly recommended.
