Neighbor is a wonderfully weird retro Game Boy horror adventure about a woman who has some incredibly bad luck with her accommodation choices.
Created by Horatiu.nyc (creator of Bitterroot) Neighbor is a Game Boy horror game that follows a woman who has a series of unfortunate adventures after moving into a new apartment. She was “lucky” enough to find her dream apartment for a bargain price, but although the apartment itself is perfectly nice, there’s something weird going on with her neighbor and he says it’s not safe to venture out at night…
Neighbor takes some wonderfully unexpected twists along its hour long playtime. The first chapter alone would make a great little standalone horror game, and things escalate quickly across the other four chapters of the game – things get pretty crazy and you’ll die in lots of delightfully brutal and unexpected ways. The pixel artwork is excellent, the writing is very witty (and darkly humorous) and the increasing absurdity of your adventure are very entertaining. Highly recommended.
