Neos Aires 2070: Sunday Comes First is a very funny Sci-Fi point and click adventure that follows a hapless detective and his robot partner as they investigate the theft of a massive pair of diamonds called “Big Pear’s Hands”.
In Neos Aires 2070: Sunday Comes First you follow the adventure of Rick Ki, a ex-soldier/janitor at the OUTER HEAVEN mercenary fortress who has been temporarily transferred to the police force after he vaporized an entire building to save a cat. He’s not the brightest bulb in the box, but thankfully he has a robotic partner who manages to keep him on the right track. He’ll need all the help he can get for his next case too – the theft of a massive pair of diamonds that used to belong to a crime boss called “Big Pear”.
Taking around 25 minutes to play through, Neos Aires 2070: Sunday Comes First has a few minor rough edges animation-wise and it’s pretty easy, but it’s a delightful little adventure that’s full of fun twists and witty humor. The majority of the pixel artwork is fantastic, there are lots of fun little gags and tongue-in-cheek references to other games (especially Kojima’s work). What’s more, you feel that there’s a real bond between Rick and his robotic companion as they drive around, investigate crime and insult each other. Highly recommended.
