NO WORDS TO SPEAK WITH is a surreal psychological horror oddity set in a strange brainwashed world where “pet friends” are grown in factories.
NO WORDS TO SPEAK WITH is set in the same universe as Yes Very Much’s previous game (BRAIN YOU LATER) and it forms the second part of their Architect Saga. You don’t need to have played the previous game to enjoy this one, but you’ll certainly get more from it if you have (and they do link together in an interesting way).
The game follows a worker/prisoner/slave as they sleep in a cell and work in a large factory that manufactures “Pet Friends”. You work during the day and sleep in your cell and receive “educational” letters to read, but then comes a special assignment…
Much like BRAIN YOU LATER, NO WORDS TO SPEAK WITH is a very weird little adventure that leaves you with more questions than answers (though if you’ve played BRAIN YOU LATER you’ll be able to piece together a lot more of it). It’s a fascinating world that Yes Very Much have created and it’s a lot of fun learning more about it. The retro styled visuals work really well (the factory environment is especially impressive) and the sound design is superb, with a particular highlight towards the end. Highly recommended.
