Oceanarium is a beautiful and bizarre experience where you swim around and discover the secrets of a strange hand drawn underwater ecosystem.
In Oceanarium you explore a deeps sea that’s filled with alien-looking lifeforms that are afraid of human invasion. You start on a small planet, but once you eat enough you’ll switch to controlling a cuttlefish-esque creature and be able to explore the main ecosystem. Once you get to the main underwater world there doesn’t appear to be any clear objective or endgame – you just swim around, eating small fish and chatting to others.
There’s a lot to see as you swim around the depths and lots of weird and wonderful creatures to discover. It’s a beautiful and chilled out experience that’s been made to illustrate the fact that we know more about deep space than we do about our oceans. The creatures in Oceanarium look weird, but they’re no more weird than some of the creatures in our oceans, and there are still many of these underwater “aliens” still waiting to be discovered.
