Created by Ravee, creator of the excellent Awareness Denied and meloveyou, Our Disgusting Fate is a dark and atmospheric little cosmic horror adventure set in a world that’s been decimated by a cosmic being that consumes all. You are the last surviving member of your species, who has awoken after an eon in cybersleep. Your world is in ruins, your people are all dead and fire dances in the sky, but you must fulfil your mission. You must kill the beast.
Our Disgusting Fate can be a little confusing initially, as there’s a lot to take in, but once you become accustomed to the intricacies of the strange alien planet it’s a fascinating experience. The logic based puzzles are a little reminiscent of the Myst games, with you deciphering clues in the alien hieroglyphics and figuring out how they can help you operate the strange alien technology. You also find old messages that allow you to piece together the lore of the world, the cosmic disaster that has befallen it and why your mission is so vital.
It’s a well crafted puzzle game and a powerful piece of storytelling that really makes you feel like you’re the last one alive at the end of the world. Well, maybe not the last one alive. There’s still the creature. But you’ll put an end to that…
