Our Lady of Sorrow is a tense and atmospheric found footage horror game that plays out on a cursed VHS tape found within the archives of an abandoned church.
As the VHS tape plays out you explore an old abbey in Ireland in first person and learn more about the story known to locals as “The Lady of Sorrow”. Things get weirder the further you explore, with statues inexplicably moving and glimpses of strange creatures in the darkness. You should be safe as you’re just watching the VHS footage of the abbey, but what if the abbey wasn’t the thing that was containing the curse?
Taking around twenty minutes to play through, Our Lady of Sorrow does a great job of building a tense and unsettling atmosphere to deliver a horror game that doesn’t rely on jump scares. The VHS aesthetics work well and the surrounding story of the cursed VHS tape does a great job of bringing the horror into your world.
