Out of Service is a wonderfully silly and knowingly cheesy 90’s styled FMV adventure where things get very weird as you and your mildly psychotic friend set out to do some laundry.
Drawing inspiration from cheesy 90’s FMV games such as Night Trap, in Out of Service a trip to the laundry to do some washing ends up taking some very unexpected turns. On your adventure you’re accompanied by your buddy who is extremely enthusiastic about doing laundry and will ask you narrative-changing questions throughout. Your answers can mean the difference between being brutally murdered and getting your washing nice and clean!
It’s clearly made by a bunch of students who are goofing around, but that adds to the charm of it and it’s a lot of fun. The acting is very cheesy (but in a good way and still leagues ahead of Night Trap), there are some fun gags throughout and your psychotic laundry buddy is very entertaining and unpredictable. It’s far more fun than actually doing your laundry.
