Pause Ahead is an innovative, infuriating and impossible little puzzle platformer in which you cheat your way through its deviously designed levels by pausing the game!
In Pause Ahead you control a cute little character who’s trapped in an impossible maze and taunted by an unseen voice. Things starts off fairly simply, with you running and jumping your way through some fairly easy levels. But then things get a whole lot tougher, with unpassable obstacles, unscalable heights and unjumpable gaps. It turns out that the only way you’re going to escape this maze is to cheat!
In Pause Ahead you ‘cheat’ your way through levels by using the pause button. When you press the pause button everything freezes, but you continue moving in the trajectory you were moving in before you paused the game. You can’t control your character, but if you get the trajectory right before pausing then you’ll be able to pass though hazards and scale obstacles.
The pause/cheat mechanics of Pause Ahead is an odd system that can take a little getting used to, but it really makes for a unique and inventive puzzle platforming experience. You’ll need some serious pausing skills to make it to the end though!
