Pearl Grabber is a surprisingly deep and introspective first person collectathon puzzle adventure where you search for pearls on a mysterious tropical island.
In Pearl Grabber you find yourself washed up on a mysterious island where you’re greeted by a statue that asks you to collect pearls for it. You collect pearls by poking clams and then slapping them when they open, which is easy – it’s finding the clams in the first place that’s the hard part! You need to find 36 pearls in total and they’re hidden all around the island – some are fairly easy to find, but some are harder to get to and some require a little puzzle solving.
Taking around 45 minutes to play through, it’s a wonderful little adventure that’s packed full of great little details and fun surprises. The retro aesthetic works really well, the soundtrack is excellent and it also manages to squeeze in an interesting narrative. You may be searching for pearls but you’ll find quite a few pearls of wisdom on this remarkable little island.
