Polarvoid is a surprisingly touching little top-down 2D horror game where you relive surreal versions of past memories via polaroids you find in your house.
In Polarvoid you take on the role of a young man who is searching around his house to find a selection of missing Polaroid pictures so that he can arrange them in a book. To collect the polaroids you’ll have to search the house, solve puzzles and take part in surreal action sequences based on the memories in the polaroids. All the while there’s a shadowy entity roaming the house…
Taking around 30 minutes to play through, Polarvoid is more of a narrative driven puzzle adventure than a full on horror game but there are some scary moments. The pixel art animation is excellent (particularly the intro) and the ending packes a real emotional punch. Highly recommended.
