Quetzalcoatl is a stylish and very addictive arcade game where you control an Aztec rollercoaster that has to flip passengers up into the air and catch them to earn more fuel.
Created for Ludum Dare 47, in Quetzalcoatl you take control of a rollercoaster as it hurtles along twisty, looping tracks. You can coast quite well along the tracks but to build up speed and make your way up upward inclines you’ll need to use fuel.
Your fuel is pretty limited, but you can gain more by going fast enough at the apex of curves to flip your passengers out of their carts and then catch them again. You can do this as many times as you want, but you only have a finite supply of passengers – so you really want to catch as many as possible when you flip them up in the air!
It’s a very addictive little game with a clever premise, a great visual style and fast paced arcade gameplay. Buckle up, this is gonna be a bumpy ride!
