Rage Against The Cocoon is a fun little 3D platforming adventure where a stubborn little caterpillar tries to eat as much junk food as possible so that it won’t turn into a butterfly.
Created for Ludum Dare 50, Rage Against The Cocoon is a lighthearted little adventure about a caterpillar who doesn’t want to transform into a butterfly. He’s quite happy the way he is and isn’t very keen on the idea of his entire body being broken down while in a cocoon. Thankfully though a friendly snail has some helpful advice – eat lots of junk food and it will stop the metamorphosis.
In each of Rage Against The Cocoon’s three short levels your aim is to eat a set amount of junk food before your metamorphosis bar fills up. If it does fill up then it’s not game over, you can break out of the cocoon and even unlock a few handy new abilities.
Taking around 15 minutes to play through, it’s a delightful little game with a very silly premise, fun gameplay and a great sense of humor. The way your little caterpillar wriggles around the levels is particularly enjoyable. Hopefully you can eat enough to keep him wriggling for a little while longer!
