Recursive Hate: Spider Hell – Downloadable Game

Recursive Hate: Spider Hell is a fun little survival shooter where you attempt to survive for as long as possible while being attacked by hordes of gigantic spiders.

Definitely a game to stay well clear of if you have a fear of spiders, Recursive Hate: Spider Hell sees you attempting to survive in arenas filled with horrifying hordes of huge arachnids. It features two game modes, Survival and Bunny Massacre (which has Playboy Bunnies running around) and two different maps (Grey Void and Suburb). The most fun option by far is playing Survival in the Suburbs map as it gives the spiders a nice sense of scale when they’re crawling around houses!

There are lots of different types of spiders (goliath spiders, tarantulas, black widows, white widows, jumpy spiders, etc), some of which are poisonous, but all of which will take a bite out of you if they get near. You earn cash as you blast the spiders and between rounds you can purchase more powerful firepower, working your way up to the almighty flamethrower that can really help fend off the spider swarms.

It has LOTS of rough edges and it feels more like a tech demo than a full game, but Recursive Hate: Spider Hell is pretty entertaining and the way the hordes of spiders scuttle towards you is oddly terrifying. Things can get pretty intense as you run, gun and avoid the swarms and there’s a real feeling of panic when you round a corner and come face to face with a massive goliath spider!
