Riftwalker is a super tough Geometry Wars-esque twin stick shooter with roguelike elements and big boss fights.
In Riftwalker you choose from a selection of seven different unique spacecraft, each with their own stats and special perks/abilities, then set out for a super intense slice of twin stick bullet hell action. It features twelve levels with a variety of different types of enemies to deal with and four big boss fights.
Each enemy you kill will drop fuel that you need to fill up your fuel tanks with and move to the next level. They’ll also occasionally drop health and weapons. There are 19 different weapons, including miniguns, missiles and melee weapons. At the end of each level you’ll also be given a choice of one of a random selection of stackable perks. Once you’ve got a good amount of perks and a decent weapon, Riftwalker starts to get a little easier, but don’t let it lure you into a false sense of security – that final boss is tough!
It’s a great little game with a very cool pixel art visual style, challenging twin-stick combat and a nice selection of weapons and perks to collect. Perfect for an intense blast of bullet hell action.
