Robin is a short narrative game that explores the pitfalls of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, as you attempt to manage your day to day life around the very limited amount of energy you have.
You have the weekend off work, but there are still some tasks at home that need to be done, such as feeding your bird and washing the dishes, as well as doing some work on your book and a few recreational activities too. You’ve got plenty of time to do these tasks, but unfortunately you suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and have a very limited amount of energy to dedicate to these activities each day. You simply don’t have enough energy to do everything, so you’ll have to prioritize the things that are most important to you and leave the other tasks un-fulfilled.
Robin gives great insight into the life of a Chronic Fatigue Syndrome sufferer – everything you do, whether it be recreational or work related takes a little bit out of you, and the tasks you can’t complete leave you wracked with guilt. There are three different endings in Robin and none of them could really be considered ‘happy’ – the best you can hope for is to manage to make it through another week.
