Rogue Paint is a fun little roguelike paint tool with procedurally generated brushes and colors, and permadeath!
Nowadays most games have roguelike elements of some form or another, so why not apps? Step forward Rogue Paint – a roguelike painting tool where you attempt to create your very own masterpieces using just seven procedurally generated colors and fourteen procedurally generated brushes.
As with any good roguelike the stakes are high in Rogue Paint. There’s no way to erase your brushstrokes and you can’t save your progress. Also, you can only export your picture once, so you need to be sure that you’re done with it as you won’t be able to work on it any further.
It’s unlikely you’ll be able to make any stunning works of art with Rogue Paint’s rudimentary toolset, but it’s a fun tool that makes clever use of its roguelike premise. Next up we need a roguelike word processor to really increase the stakes of getting an assignment done!
