Runaway Train is a fan made Unreal Engine powered remake of the events in the 1985 Andrey Konchalovskiy movie of the same name.
Runaway Train is created as a homage to the classic 1985 movie where Jon Voight and Eric Roberts’ escaped convicts find themselves trapped on a runaway train. It takes around 10 minutes to play through and puts you in the shoes of one of the convicts as you explore the train yard and attempt to sneak onto the train, then you get to watch the destruction as the train careers out of control.
It’s a bit of a strange movie to recreate in Unreal Engine and all of the best bits (when the train is crashing) are non-interactive, but it’s a fun little experience with a great sense of spectacle and drama. A short and eventful little train ride well worth taking.
