Shaky Structures is a fun little World of Goo-esque physics-based building game where you attempt to build vertical structures that can reach target areas of the screen.
Created for Ludum Dare 49, Shaky Structures plays a little like World of Goo, but with more solid constructions and the ability to fully build your structures before subjecting them to gravity. In each level your aim is to build your structure in such a way that it reaches a target area of the screen. You only have a limited amount of struts to achieve this (though you can collect more by reaching a Star) and once you’re happy with your construction you then see how it copes while subjected to gravity. If it manages to stay in the target area for a few seconds then you win and if you fail then it’s back to the drawing board.
It’s a simple, but fun little game with well devised levels and easily accessible construction tools. There’s a real sense of achievement from constructing a sturdy structure, but it’s also quite entertaining to watch sub-par ones collapse!
