Shiver is a tense little frostbitten point and click horror adventure where you attempt to survive and escape after you crash your car into a mysterious abandoned national park.
A spiritual successor to the also excellent Cozy, Shiver is a short and beautifully painted point and click adventure that takes place within a recently closed national park. You find yourself trapped there after something on the road makes you swerve and crash your car. You now need to search the park area and find some means of escape. However, it’s very cold, it’s getting dark and it seems that maybe you’re not alone…
Taking around 30 minutes to play through, Shiver is a well crafted little adventure with a beautiful art style, intuitive puzzle design and a very tense atmosphere. There are a few little jump scares, but generally it’s the atmosphere and lore that really creeps you out. You may escape the horrors of the park, but it’s questions like “just what is that strange hole down in the mine?” and “what’s up with that weird tree?” that’ll really keep you up at night!
