Spectral Filter is an eerily beautiful and atmospheric first person horror game where you venture into a haunted building to process a recently deceased body.
In Spectral Filter you are a technician who works for a company (or possibly the government), who use special filters to cleanse the trapped spirits from dead bodies. The previous operative went missing while carrying out a job, so it’s up to you to do it instead. The facility is supposed to be empty, but it’s not long until you start noticing strange noises and shadowy figures in the darkness…
You can die if you walk into a spirit, but there’s very little actual peril in Spectral Filter as they don’t really chase you. The way they just patrol the grounds, stuck in their eternal limbo, is actually quite unsettling in itself though. When you layer on top the excellent visuals, lighting and audio design then you end up with a very tense and atmospheric experience. Very spooky spectral stuff.
