\SPEK.TAKL\ is a surreal and very unsettling first person psychological horror adventure which sees your late night TV session being interpreted by mysterious VHS tapes that are posted through your door.
The surreal low rez horror of \SPEK.TAKL\ starts with you in your new apartment, unpacking your stuff, straightening your pictures and watching late night TV filled with images of lots of vintage softcore erotica. But then you find something disturbing behind a bookcase in the spare room and someone taunts you on your intercom, posting a mysterious VHS tape through your door in the process. Things get very weird, very quickly as you discover there’s a little more to your new apartment than first meets the eye.
Depending on your actions in \SPEK.TAKL\ you may end up taking two very different routes – one which feels a little more erotic and sexual and another that feels more violent and murderous. Both routes contain smaller branching routes too, but whichever way you go there’s plenty of dark and surreal imagery and a constant feeling of paranoia and being watched.
It takes around 20 minutes to play through \SPEK.TAKL\, but it’s worth playing through multiple times to get the most out of it. It’s got a captivating mixture of gore, eroticism and paranoia that feels quite unlike anything else and really gets under your skin. Highly recommended.
