Sprucerio is a very weird retro styled first person horror adventure where you run into terrible things as you go out in search of a tree on a wild wintery night.
In Sprucerio you set out on an icy Winter’s night and go in search of a tree for your cabin. Finding the tree isn’t too hard, but when you chop it down, something shifts in the landscape around you – the trees become menacing, strange monsters roam the land and the wind chill increases significantly. You can grab a nice warm drink from a big kettle that you pull behind you on a sled. This won’t help you with the monsters, but it can help to keep the cold at bay!
Taking around 20 minutes to play through, Sprucerio is a great little horror game that takes some wild twists and has a great sense of atmosphere. The monsters are creepy, but it’s often the cold, the lack of visibility and the wind snapping around you that make you really feel isolated and vulnerable. By the end you really will need a nice hot drink to warm you up!
