Storm The Swan is a retro styled visual novel horror game where strange things start happening on the Gameboy knock-off you’re playing and the world around you.
Drawing inspiration from 90’s/90’s kids cartoon and the Gameboy era of gaming, Storm The Swan puts you in the shoes of a kid who is playing a wholesome looking game on their portable DataKid games console. The DataKid game is like a wholesome visual novel set in an Animal Crossing-esque town that’s filled with cute animals. Gameplay takes place within the “real” world and the DataKid game, but some things begin to spill over from one to the other in interesting ways.
It’s a very well told story that takes some interesting twists along the way and packs a powerful punch. The ways the DataKid world and the real world interact are very clever and there are some very dark moments. Highly recommended.
