Submerged is a creepy first person puzzle adventure that sees you solving puzzles and attempting to escape from a doomed submarine with a freaky creature onboard.
In Submerged you find yourself alone in a decaying submarine with a freaky monster. To escape you’ll need to solve puzzles and keep an eye on your ever depleting oxygen supply. The monster is elusive for most of the game (and isn’t that scary when it eventually appears), but there’s a great feeling of tension and claustrophobia as you run through the confined corridors of the submarine. You can’t even trust your own eyes at times, as messages flash up in the steam of your facemask and the structure of the submarine changs while your back is turned.
Submerged isn’t the greatest looking game, but it has a great sense of tension, inventive puzzles, excellent audio design and a nice fast pace to the gameplay. It’s not all scares and tension either, it’s got a nice sense of humor too, particularly in one of the two possible endings and during the extended ending credits sequence. A deep sea horror adventure well worth diving into.
