The Absence of Is is a stylish and surreal Sci-Fi first person experience where you keep three people in the balance between life and death and examine their visions of the afterlife.
In The Absence of Is you take on the role of a researcher who is working with the other colleagues to explore a new frontier in scientific research – the afterlife. In the game you are tasked with administering drugs to keep your three colleagues in a state between life and death (a little like in the Flatliners movie). When they reach the optimal state then they start to have visions which you can view on your research computer.
The visions your three colleagues have are all very different, mostly surreal dream-like versions of things that happened in their lives. Ultimately the visions seem to say more about the people that are having them than the actual afterlife, but it’s a fascinating process nonetheless. Are they visions of the afterlife or are they just dream-like visions caused by random neural firings? Decide for yourself as you dance along the place between life and death.
