The Colossus is Coming is a tense and atmospheric first person horror experience where a man faces his mortality as he’s pursued through the woods by a towering figure.
Created by FYRE Games (creator of Summerland), The Colossus is Coming is a beautiful and eerie horror experience set within a small clearing in a forest. In the game you search around the clearing for cassette tapes which you can then play on a cassette player in the center of the clearing. Each tape tells a new part of a story about a man who is relentlessly pursued by a large omniscient figure, and as you play each tape the environment around you subtly changes.
The Colossus is Coming is an experimental experience that is designed to go in tandem with the developer’s music album of the same name (available on most streaming services). Don’t expect any big scares or even to see the mysterious pursuing figure, but it’s incredibly atmospheric and it tells its dark tale very well. Highly recommended.
