The Fallen Third is a very weird first person horror game that tells the story of how a pastor became embroiled in a murderous cult.
The Fallen Third is a prequel to two other games in the series (One for the Road and The Host), but you don’t really need to have played either of those games to enjoy this one. In the game you (initially) follow the story of a pastor called Jeffery, who is about to start a job at a new church. However, before he does he receives a warning from a colleague and a request to meet up to discuss it further. When Jeffery turns up at the meeting point his colleague is nowhere to be seen, but there is a demonic nun who starts chasing him wherever he goes…
Taking around 20 minutes to play through, The Fallen Third’s narrative feels quite disjointed, without much of a flow between each scene, but it’s a very freaky game nonetheless. It has a 90’s video nasty vibe, with some excellent audio and visual design and two particularly terrifying. There’s some great imagery throughout and you never know what horrors await you behind each door.
