The Fifth Apartment is a well crafted tale in which you play a lonely and isolated old woman, as she shuffles about in her apartment, slowly descending into madness.
Taking around 15 minutes to play The Fifth Apartment impresses with it’s excellent audio/visual design, and weaves a clever tale that respects it’s audience and it’s subject matter. You control an the old woman as she wanders around her apartment, interacting with the occasional item, and watching TV to pass the time. Outside you can hear the hustle and bustle of the city, a vibrant sounding place, full of life and color, which is in stark contrast to your dark, damp and lonely apartment.
Throughout the five days you feel remarkably isolated, spending the whole time alone with no-one to speak to and no communication with the outside world. It’s no wonder that the old woman’s mind slowly unravels before your eyes with dramatic effect, as she’s haunted by her own memories – real and imaginary.
