The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Seas is a charming little Wind Walker-esque seafaring puzzle adventure where you control the weather using codes you discover.
Created for the Conjunta – Mecânicas game jam, in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Seas you control a lone man who is stranded on a desert island. Them one day a small sailboat washes up containing the skeleton of its previous occupant and a little book tittled “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Seas”. The book contains special codes that allow you to manipulate the weather and as you progress you’ll unlock more.
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Seas is a very short game (around 5-10 minutes long), but it feels like you’ve been on an epic seafaring adventure. The pixel artwork is simple but effective, the weather manipulation mechanics are fun and the soundtrack is beautiful. A for little adventure well worth setting sail with.
