The Librarian is a beautifully animated point and click adventure in which you investigate a disturbance at a mysterious library.
Developed by the Octavi Navarro (creator of Midnight Scenes and artist on games such as Thimbleweed Park), The Librarian is a short and beautifully crafted point and click adventure that sees a librarian in a dark fantasy world, venturing out at night after recieving a message that there’s a disturbance at the library.
The library in question is a little different from your local book repository – sure there are lots of books there, but there are also dead bodies, skeletons, spirits and mysterious mechanisms to activate. To progress and get to the bottom of the disturbance you’ll have to search the library and solve puzzles. The puzzles aren’t too tough, but they’re well implemented and they all follow some form of logic (there’s no rubber-chicken-with-a-pulley-in-the-middle style puzzle here!).
It’s a beautifully crafted little adventure with high quality pixel art visuals, great puzzle design and an intriguing wordless narrative. Highly recommended.
