The Light City of Karola is a beautiful little hardcore precision platformer in which you have to rush through each level before your charge runs out.
Created for Ludum Dare 39, in The Light City of Karola you control a glowing little character who’s continually running out of energy. You can gain a little more energy by collecting the power-ups scattered around the levels and you can even get a full recharge by making it to one of the recharge stations, but on the whole would have to run for your life, getting through the levels as fast as possible before you run out of power.
There are just six levels in the current build, but they’re six tough levels that will take some skill to beat. The pixel artwork and catchy chiptune audio are excellent throughout the games short playtime, particularly the snazzy particle effects that surround your little character. A fun and fast paced precision platformer with a great sense of atmosphere.
