The Melting Apartment is a surreal Game Boy Color horror game where you investigate the disappearance of a young woman in a creepy apartment block.
Drawing inspiration from Italian Giallo movies and the work of Junji Ito, The Melting Apartment is an unsettling Game Boy Color horror game set in a nightmarish apartment block. You take on the role of a detective who is investigating the disappearance of a young woman who lived there.
When you get there it immediately feels like something is off, both from the grimy setting and the residents who all seem to be living in abject fear. Your investigation will unearth some terrifying discoveries and you’ll be lucky to escape with your life.
Taking around 15 minutes to play through (and featuring three different endings), it’s an excellent little horror game with an eerie soundtrack, superb pixel artwork and a very unsettling story. It turns out there are worse things about squalid apartments than a bit of mould and dry rot!
