The Mummy 1932 is a fun little Unreal Engine powered reimagining of the Boris Karloff classic 1932 movie, The Mummy, which sees you being stalked by a deadly mummy after disturbing its tomb.
Created by Stefano Cagnani (creator of Tarantula 1955 and Runaway Train, The Mummy 1932 is another excellent recreation of a movie classic, this time set in an ancient Egyptian tomb. The game uses the same setting as the movie, but alters the story and sees you and lady companion entering Imothep’s tomb and accidentally unleashing the mummy’s curse, then trying to make it out again alive.
The gameplay in The Mummy 1932 is fairly simple, but it’s got a great visual style and soundtrack that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into the classic movie. Like the original movie, it’s more of an adventure than an all out horror movie, but the mummy is still pretty terrifying if he gets close!
