Released as an April Fool’s gag by SEGA, The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog takes the Sonic characters and places them inside a Murder on the Orient Express style murder mystery adventure. In the game you are starting your first day working aboard the Mirage Express and it looks like it’s going to be an eventful trip. It’s Amy’s birthday and she’s planning to have a murder mystery party aboard the train. However, it’s not long until something sinister is afoot…
The gameplay in The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog blends puzzles, visual novel-style conversations and a little isometric platforming. It’s a fantastic little game with a great sense of humor, all your favorite Sonic characters and some great little twists. It’s not just an April Fool’s gag, but a great game in its own right. Highly recommended.
