The Path is a charming and brutal little game which follows a mother hen as she shepherds her chick to safety through a perilous path of obstacles.
Created for Ludum Dare 46, in The Path you take control of a mother hen as she attempts to keep her offspring safe while traveling along a dangerous path. You do start off with lots of chicks, but a hilariously tragic car accident leaves you with just one. Your chick is clearly not the brightest of creatures as it will happily wander into any deadly hazard, but you can shepherd it by positioning yourself behind the direction you want it to travel in.
The Path is fairly short, but it’ll take a few attempts to guide your little chick to safety and there’s a nice variety of hazards to contend with. The pixel art animation and the premise is adorable, and you do feel a little bit guilty each time you fail to keep your hapless little chick alive. A charming chicken caper well worth checking out.
