The Rudest F***ing Party Guest invites you to a very odd little party inspired byEdgar Allan Poe’s The Masque of the Red Death
As you explore the rather decadent party, with each room themed differently, you talk to the revellers and get some insight into the ‘guest’ which they’re afraid is coming (as well as some genuinely funny partygoing dialogue). As well as the striking visual style, The Rudest F***ing Party Guest impresses with the variety of rooms on show – among others there’s a dancefloor filled with revellers, a cinema playing 2001: A Space Odyssey, a billiards room, a sauna and even a bar with a pole dancer.
The Rudest F***ing Party Guest is more of an experience than a game per se, you simply have to wait for the ‘guest’ that everyone fears comes to the party, who will appear after a certain amount of time (After the 3rd clock chime). Considering the basic graphical style, the arrival of the ‘guest’ is genuinely an unsettling experience – all the partygoers are terrified and so will you be to some extent. Edgar Allen Poe says it best:
‘And now was acknowledged the presence of the Red Death. He had come like a thief in the night. And one by one dropped the revellers in the blood-bedewed halls of their revel, and died each in the despairing posture of his fall. And the life of the ebony clock went out with that of the last of the gay. And the flames of the tripods expired. And Darkness and Decay and the Red Death held illimitable dominion over all.’
