The Sunday Museum – Downloadable Game

The Sunday Museum is a short and strange little experimental horror game where you wander around a creepy museum with surreal videos, abstract art and wonderfully wordy descriptions.

Created by Sunshine_Error (creator of Sweetbox), The Sunday Museum allows you to explore a small art museum that’s open late at night. As you explore the museum you can take in the art and watch short video clips. Each room also contains a small sign that describes the artist’s vision in a hilariously wordy parody of the pompous and overcomplicated descriptions art critics use.

It’s an interesting and oddly unsettling experience that has a lot of potential for expanding on into something larger (you should also check out The Midnight Art Show if you enjoy it). Virtual art museums are a great way of showcasing art (we’ve covered quite a few in the past) but The Sunday Museum proves they would also make a great location for a bit of surrealist horror. It certainly leaves a lasting impression on you anyway.
