The Tomatoes are OK is a thoroughly bizarre little narrative experience about tomatoes, pigs, trophies and avoiding upsetting your mother.
There are a few puzzle elements to The Tomatoes are OK, but on the whole it’s more of an incredibly surreal first person narrative experience. You wander up and down your farm investigating objects and pressing buttons to see what happens, often being assured that ‘The Tomatoes are OK’. It’s a strange place, viewed through a glitchy red haze, but then a door appears and things get even weirder.
The whole thing feels like a nightmare David Lynch might have if he’s had too many tomatoes before bedtime. You’re never sure what to expect and your surroundings can change in an instant. The visual filters and audio are very unsettling, especially as it’s often quite hard to see where you’re going. A brilliantly bizarre little experience that will really get under your skin. The tomatoes may be okay, but everything else in this world is far from it!
